Newspaper

This newspaper was created using Quark Express.  The images were inserted with the photo (image) box and the text was inserted using the text box.  Certain images were cropped in order to have the image stand alone and the text was sent to background in order to have the text surrounding it.  The text was modified and runaround was added in order for the text not to reach the outlines of the boxes.

Here's a newsletter I did about myself.  I used Quark express and Photoshop.

Green Leaf Newsletter

First attempt at using Quark Express.  I honestly couldn't tell you exactly what I did aside from messing around with the text and image boxes and importing appropriate items.  I chose an image box for the entire newsletter and added color, while bringing images to the front "send to back." The text is just something I made up on my own so don't take it for fact.

Star

Rectangle plus star, use pathfinder to subtract from shape area.  Red: y100, m100, k20, c0

is the combination for red in stroke area.

Self portrait

Chose shapes, added color, wrote my name, and selected "type" and "create outline" for name.  This allowed me to add color to a font.

Save Bart

I used Pathfinder to subtract the image and pasted it in Illustrator.  Then scaled it and used the eye dropper to add color to the image.
