Star
Rectangle plus star, use pathfinder to subtract from shape area. Red: y100, m100, k20, c0
is the combination for red in stroke area.
Self portrait
Chose shapes, added color, wrote my name, and selected "type" and "create outline" for name. This allowed me to add color to a font.
Save Bart
I used Pathfinder to subtract the image and pasted it in Illustrator. Then scaled it and used the eye dropper to add color to the image.
